This is the car we have all been waiting for! The Audi Q5 4x4 Estate SUV. Typical of Audi the build quality and pure driving pleasure of this new model - due for build in March 2009 - is way beyond most other manufacturers. The Audi Q5 4x4 Estate SUV is designed and equipped to tackle a degree of off-roading, with hill descent control provided as standard and ABS and stability control systems that detect and adapt to rough surfaces. Quattro intelligent four-wheel drive is fitted as standard.
The Audi Q5 4x4 Estate SUV will have three engines available at launch. The 2.0 TFSI turbocharged direct injection petrol unit has been re-engineered to deliver 211hp and 350Nm of torque. This will be joined by the 170hp 2.0 TDI and the 240hp 3.0 TDI V6, which can deliver 500Nm of torque. The TFSI amd V6 engines will be available with Audi’s seven-speed S-tronic automatic transmission. The Audi Q5 4 x 4 is an assured, composed handler that feels more like an estate than a 4x4. The Audi Q5 4x4 steering is nicely weighted most of the time and the ride is mainly smooth, with just a slight knobbly undercurrent over small surface variations. The Towing capacity is up to two tonnes on the Audi Q5 4x4 Estate SUV. Engine emissions have not yet been declared, but the 2.0 TDI will return more than 42mpg. Audi quotes £30,000 as a guideline starting price for the range.
