Our opinion on Audi A3 Cabriolet
Audi says it has stiffened the structure of the open-top Audi A3 Cabriolet, but it still lacks rigidity. It would be too much to expect an open car to be as rigid as one with a fixed roof, but the agile handling and composed ride of the A3 hatchback are largely unsullied. Fundamentally, apart from the folding soft-top roof, not much has changed over the Audi A3 3DR. The Audi A3 Cabriolet is fractionally longer, yet the width and wheelbase are unaltered, and the bodywork clearly displays this car’s relatively humble origins. The Audi A3 Cabriolet come with a choice of 1.8-litre and 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engines and 1.9-litre and 2.0-litre TDIs, in a range of standard, Sport or S Line trims to take on all the other rivals. Most of the Audi A3 Cabriolet's interior is shared with other A3 models, which means you get soft-touch upper dash plastics and slick switchgear. Some of the materials in the lower reaches of the cabin aren't as plush, but overall it still feels classy and built to last.
