Audi A6 Avant - Buyers Guide
The
Audi A6 Avant 5DR Estate has supple ride comfort, but with precise and clear feedback. Power, but with fuel efficiency. An exhilarating driving experience, but with luxurious accommodation. The
Audi A6 Avant 5DR Estate triumphantly reconciles these apparent opposites through advanced technology and design. A blend of opposing qualities, but a compromise in none.
The
Audi A6 Avant Estate 5DR is one of the most understated yet capable ranges of
executive Audi A6 Avant 5DR Estate cars on the market, which helps to explain its immense success in this most conservative sector. An astonishing choice of engines, transmissions and the option of quattro four-wheel drive on most models allows the buyer to build almost a bespoke car. Ride and handling are a shade off the standard set by its closest rivals, but cabin quality is unsurpassed, and the practicality of the
Audi A6 Avant is especially appealing.
The sportiest business estate in its class, the
Audi A6 Avant 5DR Estate embodies all the principles of Vorsprung durch Technik. A versatile and stylish all-rounder, packed with first-rate technology and supreme driving dynamics, it’s perfect for those who demand a broad range of abilities but a compromise in none.
Every
Audi A6 Avant Estate carries as standard ABS, brake-force distribution, traction control, stability programme, active front head restraints and multiple airbags. Security measures include remote central locking, Category One alarm and an immobiliser. The
Audi A6 Avant Estate 5DR body styles earned the maximum five Euro-NCAP stars for occupant protection, but just one star for pedestrian protection.
Our opinion on Audi A6 Avant
Audi has built a car that fills the gap between executive cars and true limousines the Audi A6 Avant Estate. Everything has been polished to a level that marks this car out as one of the best-built executive estates of the moment – and better than some luxury cars. The Audi A6 Avant comes with huge amounts of head- and legroom in the back. The Audi A6 Avant has an enormous cabin space and a wide range of seating and steering-wheel adjustments. The dash is well laid out and all versions have a rotary switch in the centre console with which to control functions through a dashboard screen. Inside, Audi has spent some time ensuring the Audi A6 Avant Estate is more flexible than its predecessor. In the Audio A6 Avant the boot itself is big enough for most people's needs, though, with 65 litres more space than BMW's 5-Series that is impressive. There’s front- and four-wheel drive, and the aim is to make the sportiest cars in the class. However, the ride is very firm over poor surfaces, even in the sporty RS6. The Audi A6 Avant has an extremely stiff body. The Audi A6 Saloon received a maximum five stars in the Euro NCAP crash testing, and every model is fitted with anti-skid and stability control, anti-lock brakes and six airbags.
